According to reports available, the next Apple smartphone might debut in a third additional color aside from the traditional black and white. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated the upcoming iPhone will be available in a gold casing. He also projected Apple will offer a larger 128GB storage than what is seen on the current iPhone 5. "We also forecast the new model will add a new look, a golden casing, and a new option for larger 128GB storage, to offer greater differentiation from iPhone 5," said Kuo.
Whether the device is the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S, the speculation of a gold variant of the next Apple smartphone is not new. MacOtakara reported that a gold model of the next 4-inch smartphone would be available once the third quarter arrived, along with the usual black and white options. According to MacRumors, the new 128 GB internal storage option could give Apple the option to discontinue the 16GB models since "Apple has typically only offered three different storage options for most devices."
Kuo also projected features for the next iPhone, from the RAM chip to the A7 processor. "We reckon A7 will upgrade memory bandwidth spec to LPDDR3 from LPDDR2 adapted by A6, in an effort to improve system performance," Kuo added. "Since Apple is in charge of both hardware and OS design, it is capable of minimalizing memory capacity at an optimized state. Therefore, A7's RAM will likely be unchanged at 1GB."
