Diablo III holds the record as the fastest selling PC game of all time. It tends to be only the really hardcore gamers bumping up their graphics cards and battling it out on Windows. This success would eventually manifest itself on console. Both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming fans will be able to get their Diablo III fix by 3rd September, with Activision Blizzard having just made the announcement of the title for the two market-leading current-gen consoles. September is a pretty good month for new games. This announcement is every bit as exciting. Although we knew that the PS3 version was incoming, the revelation will certainly appease those in ownership of the flagship Microsoft gaming machine.
The flexibility of PC hardware upgrades makes playing the latest and greatest games on a desktop a relative easy. But many will stick with their Xbox or PlayStations for their gaming needs. The platform crossing of Diablo III has to be billed as one of the biggest releases so far in 2013. Activision’s next Call of Duty may have something to say about that, but Diablo III will tide avid gamers over until the projected November release of the next in the CoD series. According to the announcement, Diablo III on console won’t just be a straight port, with certain elements “custom-tailored for gamepad-driven action.”
Diablo III on console will benefit from an all-new dynamic camera system and improved UI, and with the more recently-added bonus content for the PC edition arriving right off the bat, the console gamers will enjoy the fruits of this staggered release. A PlayStation 4 version is in the pipeline, but nothing is sure with regards to a release date.
