Polaroid have announced their new action camera, the Polaroid XS80. The camera features 1080p recording and waterproof capabilities. The new addition to Polaroid's collection aims to, "easily capture your extreme adventues in stunning HD," according to the official press release. Polaroid debuted the camera earlier this week, priced at $129.99 (around £85), shooting in 1080p at 30 fps.
"The Polaroid XS80 is also shock and impact resistant allowing it to be used in all types of daring environments." This new action camera is also mountable and shoots in 3 photo moders; single, burst (10), and time lapse (1,5,10,30,60). Other features include a Micro SD card up to 32GB, G sensor, anti-shake and the ability to cope with high impact situations.
Polaroid has been expanding its range of products in recent years to include instant and digital cameras, HD camcorders, mobile printers, tablets and flat-screen TVs. Last year, Polaroid added to its instant camera range with the Polaroid Z2300, a camera which allowed users to instantly upload their photos to social media platforms. An announcement earlier this year introduced the company's first Android powered camera, the Polaroid im1836, being the world's first of its type to have an interchangeable lens.
